What is the difference between the Marginal Tax Rate and the Effective Tax Rate?
The Marginal Tax Rate is the tax rate used to calculate the tax on taxable income according to the federal tax brackets. The Effective Tax Rate is the percentage of your total income that you paid in taxes. Divide total taxes by total income to calculate the Effective Tax Rate.
