Meet Sammie Binning:
Sammie is a graduate of Plymouth State University earning a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and has a Master of Science in Accounting with a concentration in taxation from Southern New Hampshire University. She is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in New Hampshire, as well as a member of the New Hampshire Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

What are 3 fun facts about yourself?
I initially went to college with the idea of opening my own dance studio. My husband and I are middle school sweethearts. I love being outside in the fresh air, specifically at the ocean.
What area of tax accounting do you like best and why?
Individual and businesses tax planning. The return shows a history of what happened. The planning shows opportunities. It's a choose your own adventure, within the law, based on the facts/circumstances.

Every Christmas Eve, we listen to Orson Welles - A Christmas Carol.
What is your favorite tax/accounting fun facts?
Not fun, just a fact: Assets = Liabilities + Equity.
Describe an interesting hobby or pastime that you have.
I love going to live shows - concert, stand-up, theater. I love the energy and I love the entertainment.
What is the best advice you can give someone who just started their career?
Be patient and kind with yourself. You are learning almost every moment of everyday. Do your best and rest when you can!
What is your favorite part of New Hampshire and why?
There's so much to do here without having to travel far. From where I live, I can be at the ocean, mountains, or Boston within an hour. I can be in New York City, Bar Harbor Maine, or Montreal in 4.
What does your position entail/what's your favorite part about your position?
I'm an individual tax manager. I get to have fun working on processes and efficiencies and working with individual tax clients.
My favorite part of my job is watching a tax return come together and seeing the story it tells.
What is your specialty?
I specialize in individual tax, especially sole proprietors and those with closely held businesses.
