New Hampshire offers an Education Tax Credit that allows for certain state taxes to be offset by a credit for making donations to approved scholarship organizations. In 2018 the program was updated so that more taxpayers are eligible for the credit.
The program was updated during 2018 so that the credit is now available for use on the New Hampshire Interest and Dividends Tax in addition to the New Hampshire Business Profits Tax and Business Enterprise Tax. Due to the this change, the credit is now available to individuals.
To receive a credit, an individual or business must file Form ED-02 with the New Hampshire Department of Revenue and after approval must make their donation within the next sixty days.
